Having watched ' Hugo ' at the pictures with the kids we went for a meal on Sunday at our local Steakhouse . A large all women party was next to us , when they'd finished the girl came with their bill . Not sure the amount , but I heard one girl say ' we'll all chip in £15 that'll cover it .' To which another girl said , ' My meal was only £9 , so i'll put £11 in .'
My wife looked at me , and said , ' tight fucker .' I can't honestly believe what I'd overheard , how fucking tight can someone be , another chick there was larfin at her , she did take some stick .
Quote by wilsonzenithI think it probably depends on what her finances are. If you are having to be very careful with money a few pounds can make a big difference.
really ? if £4 is that big a deal , why go for a meal in the first place . when we go out with friends , we add a tenner on for a tip , then split it evenly .
Tight, ive been to places before and people have paid more because ive had loads to drink and ive paid more because others have had more to drink than me, thats life i suppose.
Quote by Hugo A-Go-GoEven split. Tip if the service is deserving of one.
"the steak was pretty good thank you, a little over done but nothing to complain about.... Now if you hunch up under the table and wrack me off I'll throw another pound in there...."
Ever been in a resturant and the table next to you has left a massive tip ? then you leave a few quid (which is about right for good service imo) and you feel guilty as fuck ?
Steve, this is one of my biggest irritations. Absolutely dread the moment near the end of the meal when the calculators come out. I think the bill should always be split unless someones obviously had a lot more than an other. Find it really embarrassing.

To be honest i've never split a bill for a meal before. If we ask friends for a meal i fully expect to pay for it. The same if friends ask us for a meal i expect them to pay for it. I would find it embarrassing to asked to 'chip in' & would probably pay it myself if that was the case.
I always only ever tip at 10% whether service is good or bad.
"If you have friends like mine, raise your glasses. If you don't have friends like mine, raise your standards."
If she needs to watch her pennies that much she really shouldn't be out for dinner in the first place. I doubt that, so pay the extra fiver like everyone else. If there was a massive difference in the prices of everyones meals then fair enough, but for the sake of a fiver? Nah, not having it.
even split unless 1 person is not drinking and the others are having expensive wine and lots of it. Then that person should not pay for the booze. Even mroe so if they are driving everybody else to the restaurant.

if youre not tipping at 15% youre a mingeo
Last time it was the case i gave a good 10% at least, the couple next to us, left 10 quid, was quite a pricey place but i didnt see bottles of moet being shipped over to them, so they never in a month of sundays had a £100 bill, they must of been feeling generous.
Poor people should stay at home and toast pieces of Happy Shopper bread on their two-bar electric fires, and not clutter up restaurants and pubs for the more affluent. ; )

This happens a lot in Canada on lads boarding tour and we do have one tight fcuker with us, so I am all for splitting bill equally including tip however I am aware that if someone is off form and picking cheaper meals, not drinking or having starters and deserts then you can't expect them to fund us greedy fcukers?!!! ;-)
