Quote by VictorinoxSo it IS mostly all petty then! You are still hung up about something that happened in 2009? Seriously? I take it you are a Chelsea supporter like but still. Are you also the kind of person that dismisses Maradonna's greatness because of, "That goal" against England as well? How many times has C.Ronaldo dived? Nani? Drogba? Walcott? Jonas (Who plays for my actual club)? And lots, lots more... Sadly it happens; but it happens at more than one club and mostly in our own backyard! Then you have the likes of Man Utd and others, the teams that are on Sky Sports MOST weekends... Surely they take away TV money from others and get most praise, do they not? THEN there is Rangers and Celtic in Scotland. I just think it is real petty reasons, mostly jealously due to the fact they are a great football team. I don't get all this, 'Ohh no you can't like them or support them because their player once stayed down for 2 mins in 1992 bla bla bla' stuff, its nealy as tendious as the whole Rangers vs Celtic stuff.... People can like or support who ever the fuck they want, it is football and i like Barca.
The difference is, when Nani, Suarez and Drogba dive they are pulled up for it and rightly so. It never happens when these Barcelona players cheat, in fact it is often joked about! I'm not sure you understand TV money. Barcelona and Madrid have destroyed La Liga with their greed. They were already far and away richer than the rest but they wanted even more. Go and have a look at the figures and then you'll see just how ridiculous you have been accusing United of doing the same. If United wanted too they could DWARF the TV money Barca and Madrid get but they don't want to make the competition any more difficult for the smaller clubs than it already is.
Another pet hate I have with Barca is how people with no football knowledge bang on about the little money they spend and state the team is from the youth system. They are huge spenders. Over recent years they have brought in Ibrahimovic, Villa, Mascherano and this season alone big money signings of Fabregas and Sanchez.
I see on the page before someone said they like what Barca stand for and one of the things they big up is how little spending they do and how much they provide local talent. Anyone else here agree?

Let's not forget the huge wages they pay as well. They have got an amazing academy and it's like a production line but they spend monumental amounts of money too. This was partly what I alluded to before when I mentioned knobheads going on about "Barca".
Quote by RVP's Left FootMakes me cringe when I hear dickheads who know zilch about football and only know Barcelona from SKY going on about Barca this and Barca that.
Could liken that to the majority of so called Man Utd fans I know up here. Couldn't even spell FOOTBALL
I know. And every Arsenal fan you meet are generations old North Londoners who know everything about FUTBOL.
Quite witty Mr Vasque.
Well, I tell them there's no problem Only solutions

I notice you ignored most of my points but anyway - I'm glad you enjoyed the Jimmy Burns Book. Unfortuntely, I have to call your knowledge of football into question - there is no comparison between the tv deal for the Premiership, which is done on a collective bargaining (you who admire barca for the political stance would surely be aware of that phrase when it comes to football) basis rather than the complete greed of Barca and Real. Had you read my original point you'll see I wrote , 'for all Barca's undounted greatness....'I'm fully aware of their brilliance but thankfully I can see beyond their tippy tappy football and the whole media wankfest that exists about them which had led to a new breed of football fan who knows fuck all about Barca apart from what he sees and hears on Sky sports - that said, there are fans of a few clubs (I can think of two straight off!) who have fallen on leaner times who also hang onto their coattails and use Barca as a stick to beat other clubs and fans with.
Of course people can support who they like but whoever said they can't??
Oh yeah, and fill me in on their 'political viewpoint' when you get a chance like a good man.
sign me in to the ANTI barza camp! Lots of the reasons have already been stated by casualcol. Madrid will win against these hypocrite wankers when they will not loose their focus in front of the goal like always.

Agreed they pay huge wages like all the big clubs do,they spend a lot of money like all the other big clubs do.Eight of the current first team regulars come through the academy.I really cannot see what the big problem is?

No problem and I already said they have a great academy but go and have a look what they have spent in the last ten years. They pay bigger wages than United and Liverpool that's for sure and they are broke and couldn't afford to pay wages for a while last season and then the club that said they'd never have a shirt sponsor suddenly had a shirt sponsor. BTW, is Messi considered a product of La Masia because if he is then that is laughable?
