Quote by Ed68Never happy to lose but happy to be still on top - not sure whether we'll still be there by Christmas and the New Year though.
Think the result would have been different if the penalty was given and scored. Chelsea would have had to push on and could have been picked off on the counter.
Still, Chelsea probably deserved it overall and no arguments from me on either of the bookings for Clichy.
Well played Chelsea - I can't believe any top team celebrated like that after beating us. I saw it from some teams in The old Div 3 and understood that.
It's called passion - not enough of it in the game at the moment.
Quote by Ed68Ha ha, I wasn't slagging Chelsea for celebrating per se.
More that I can't believe a team would celebrate that much about beating City.
Ridiculous post
You're right mate celebrating beating the league leaders is stupid when you just beat the team in the position you want to be. So silly of me to comment.
If you can't celebrate when you beat a club that has spent half a BILLION £s on players in three years and are current league leaders then I'm not sure when you can celebrate.
At least they won't have t-shirts printed like some we could mention after a victory.

Mr Vasque, your opinion is growing to be uncannily similar to mine. Who'd have thought it....

Funnily enough Glenn, I don't have a problem with United or their clued in fans whatsoever and Vasque fits that category. A knowledgeable football fan is a knowledgeable football fan whether he supports Liverpool or Luton, Man U or Macclesfield etc etc (or even Norn Iron or the Republic!)
thought Toure was as sly as a fox last night .. games I've watched before he's a giant of a man on the pitch , son influencial , last night head was elsewhere .. no need for some of the shit he was doing ..

Yep Colm, wouldn't disagree with that mate

Who do you fancy for the manager's job up there? See that Dowie and Magilton have been interviewd thus far. Neither would fill me with much confidence I'm afraid. Would be great to see that reigning British Champions a genuine force again on the International Scene. Looks like a long road ahead though. That said we saw a resurgence of sorts from Wales this year so hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. I guess a few players of the quality of Ramsey and Lennon would be a help!

YEah mate, seems those two are the front runners. Michael O'Neil would probably be preferable to most including me but mainly on the basis he could be a gem whereas we know the other 2 aren't. As you say though mate, there are no Aaron ramsey on our horizon....:-( you must be chuffed at how trappatoni has worked out. Gamble on the big name has paid off. Think we missed our finals window with sanchez I suspect....

Mick O'Neil is looking likely now, he didn't sign a new contract with Rovers

I'd love to say I'm chuffed but I just don't get excited by international football anymore. The 'Green Army' do my head in for starters. I'm happy for people like my Dad who used to hitch to Dublin to watch the Republic in Dalymount Park 35 years ago. Too many fuckers with face paint and stupid looking wigs in the crowd at these games. I'll be quite happy to watch the Euros in some side street pub with fellow oiks like myself where there'll be no wigs of face paint on display! I'll put to you like this - if Ireland lose I'm pissed off for maybe 5 minutes, if Chelsea loses I'm pissed off until they win again. Although having that, I think as I've gotten older I've learned to accept defeat in a better way.

I'm similar too Colm, I've plenty of mates who go most games but for me, it doesn't hold half the interest Chels does. I haven been to a Norn iron game sincethe 80s and certainly wasn't gonna start goin again when they were doin well under sanchez. Plenty have stopped goin to their premership club to go NI away instead. NOt a chance I'd do it. Separate note, scored at dalymount for Belfast schools. WE lost 2-1 to Dublin but think I was the first to score there since whiteside good stadium.

Excellent cllaim to fame Glenn! Stormin' Norman, eh? Player and half he was - injuries did for him for a few seasons he was as good a midfielder as you'd see. His technique was excellent for a British player.
