So, has Carl got a decent chance in this one or are the bookies right to have Ward as a big favourite? Ward is pretty slick and I don't think he'll fancy getting involved in a war with Froch because that is where he'd come off second best I reckon. I think a comfortable UD for Ward, unfortunately, although I hope I'm wrong.
Ah well, the result we expected but it was the manner of the defeat that surprised. I love Froch, he has given us some exciting moments, the Taylor fight was unbelievable, but he got totally schooled by Ward in every department. We knew Ward was slicker and quicker and would be able to outbox Froch but no-one predicted Ward would initiate phone-box fighting and come out on top in every exchange - he bullied Froch in the exact exchanges Froch thought he would be in control of. When you get out-boxed and out-muscled you have no chance.
Andre Ward just elevated himself into a P4P contender. If he had genuine power he would be as good as they come.
EDIT: The two judges who had it 115-113 should never officiate ever again, disgraceful. The one judge who wasn't pissed-up was British.
