Some good news today, got an interview next week for a work placement starting in August. Never had a formal interview before, just doing a bit of research this evening.

Any advice gents or little tips outside the obvious? Also any good stories etc.

Always send a written thank you letter after your interview. Everyone emails them.

-A written thank you will be remembered and appreciated.

Look each one in the eye and thank each of them with a shake of the hand to finish off. Relax, dont over think/revise beforehand.
Take a glass of water, its professional, ask them if its not available. let them pour it, your the one in control. :)

I had one where we were on couches and the fella opposites groin was right in my eye line. that didn't help so try and avoid couches

Simple one but just be yourself and you'll be fine. Try and be confident without being lairy, eye contact (for appropriate amount of time !) and good firm handshake go a long way.
They say people make their minds up about another person's personality within 10-20 seconds of meeting them, first impressions count and all that so friendly, open and professional and relax. Gen up on the company and ask them questions especially about opportunities to advance
