worrying for your lads Andy was a lack of physique, power and strength in midfield. Thought the quartet on show last night were lightweight. If you were to partner Tiote and a Modric style player they would refresh that pedestrian midfield. Who will Fergie pull out of the bag or will he sit tight til the summer?
No idea what Fergie will do Colm, but you are right about how physically weak United looked last night and have done at other times this season (and last season to be fair). I think the blue-print of how to play this United side has been well-known for a while, press the midfield, especially Carrick if he's playing, and they really struggle. Give Carrick time and space and he'll shine but under pressure in tight space he looks flustered and unable to think quick enough. I also thought Jones looked poor last night at centre back (did he win a header?) and maybe Fergie does see him playing in the middle down the road but injuries forced his hand. Just goes to show how much steel Vidic brings to the defence.

Well played Newcastle, wanted it more, hungrier and Pardew got it spot on. Two cracking goals felt a bit sorry for Jones but why he didn't kick it out I'll never know.
