Heard all the stories and well aware of the trouble Man City and Liverpool have had. I've been to a few places in Europe with reputations but never seem to have much trouble. Usually because the Old Bill are all over it. The scooter thing was supposed to be an issue when we went to Milan. Just walked around with our arses against the wall.. From experience unless your making a bit of a tit out of yourself and making yourself obvious you'll be ok. Obviously there are the odd occasions when you can be unlucky though.
I have heard it can be a good night, with some nice places to see. Will we ever see them though??? Got a couple of nights there so see where we end up. Looking forward to the game. One of the best atmospheres in Europe apparently.
Went years ago (during Anglo Italian Cup of all things), thought the area round the castel nuovo was pretty chilled out but other parts can be pretty grim. Went out to Sorrento for a bit which was ok, and Pompei / Vesuvius. Stayed for a night in Naples and it was fine, nice pizzerias etc just be sensible and keep your wits about you, just a bit more than normal. Probably will be feisty over there
Watch your back, they are fucking animals. 3 or 4 of them will stand on each street corner and follow you. They don't make you welcome and will not give a second thought of attacking you, simply because you are English. A few of our lads gone done by them passing by on scooters and either swiping you with a blade or hitting you on the back of the head with a belt buckle. The city is a shithole, its full of rubbish and they generally don't give a fuck about what they do to it. I'd recommend booking into a good 4-5* hotel outside the city and enjoying the facilities in the hotel.

Not been for football, only been for a day out there.............but I can say it's a fucking rough arse city! my memory of the locals is ...think of Carlos Tevez with more facial scars than he already has, covered in Che Guevara tattoos. Some of the women have more tattoos than the men.
Having said all that ......a buzzing city which I really liked.

Great place with a real passion for its local team. Never seen such a dirty city in my short life. Read Gomorra as a warm up :) As said before watch your back and stick with your mates: I wouldn't expect anything good from locals but great pizza, pasta, sea food in some selected tratorias! Enjoy!!
Reminded me of the game assassins creed, island of capri's a nice trip to get away from the shithole, also the amalfi coast, sorrento, positano all nice, but then they need to welcome tourists.
