Didn't look for shops when I went (once with everton, once for a stag do) but you can't go wrong with the bars. Can't remember any names but we just mooches about and hit gold every time. The hoffbrauhaus - spell? - is the big bierkeller and it's spot on, ace sausage platter. But there's loads of little gaffs to be found too. Great place
Went about 5 years ago with the Arsenal, cracking city for beer. No idea about shops as I went for a game.
Augustiner Bierhall was a place we set up in, great place. Buxom frauhleins waltzing around with 2-3 of the massive beer glasses in each hand (steins?) while we're all using both hands to lift ours.
As said above to go on the piss it's a brilliant city but for shopping it's no great shakes. Maximillianstasse has all the big designer stores and then there are some boutiques north of the city center but I didnt see anything that was a real head turner. Enjoy your time out there, I ended up going from a beer keller to an Ultras dive bar blaring cock sparrer to a superb techno club in the space of about 12 hours - just that sort of place.
