Never found him an easy player to warm to, but I always got the impression he gave everything on the pitch and made a lot from his relative natural ability.
he was a great player for wednesday...when we a very good side .....might not have been the most skillfull but at the time wednesday had plenty of them! did the stuff others did'nt want to on a pitch.....solid midfielder who if he played for your team i assure you, you would have loved him! A WEDNESDAY LEGEND
also had the pleasure of having a pint with him on a couple of occassions....a very down to earth bloke, and a good laugh.
and was a lot better than David 'only pass it sideways' Batty!! and plenty of others who have caps for England!
I heard he's a bit of a wanted man round Sheffield. Had an estate agency that went under, also ripped a couple of people off in some Spanish property deal a few years back
He used to come in Jallens Wine Bar Nottingham with Des Walker , always giving it large . Biggest fuckin gobs ever(both) ! The Bars door owner Mr D.Jackson R.I.P. Told him once (I was on the door with him ) to keep it down . C.P. Gobbed off saying the old "Do you who know who i......" BANG ! Dennis SLAPPED him (his trade mark) and sat him on his arse , then dragged him up the 25 steps out the bar and threw him out , leaving him and his gutter gob lying in a heap outside . If only there were camera phones in those days.......... pmslol !!!
and he lived in Whiston in Rotherham ,same as me ............. I just ignored the piggy bastard (No offence wadey my man ;0 ] )
