Not suprised you couldnt get rid Actually looking forward to being back in the championship, might even get myself a season ticket again next season, will never get one in the prem again.
Quote by Chinese_alanI personally think wolves will stop up.
tongue firmly in cheek there pal..
Just a tad, I think the premiership is just the most pointless exercise ever for clubs like wolves, like coops has said above, championship > premiership from the wolves point of view, i've mates who are wolves fans and from day one in the championship have said they dont care for it !!
Just shows the ambition of some clubs though if you would prefer to watch the championship every week over the premier league. Trust me I'd take top league every time.
Realisticly though Ian what ambition can clubs in the bottom half of the premiership have besdies being a midtable club without taking huge risks with the clubs finances that most likely wont pay off or having an owner thats willing to spend millions and millions (and even then its a huge risk). Yeah its great for the club and the city and good to be playing against some of the top clubs in the world but over a whole season i prefered going when we were in the championship.
To be fair I felt similar to the way you do a couple of years ago when the team was shit and we were in free fall. Life in the top league isn't very enjoyable when your club has no direction. It was a refreshing change a season in the championship and we came back a lot stronger, but as a football fan the buzz just isn't there when you win as it is the Prem and the quality of opposition is a bit suspect.

totally disagree - take Swansea or Norwich , not spent big , and survived well through the season .. sacking your manager when you dont even have anyone inline or anyone who wants the job is suicidal. Many teams are mid-table or below , but imagine all of them would rather be playing Man Utd , Chelsea or Arsenal than Boro , Cardiff or Ipswich . It is a tough call wether to buy players to keep you in the League or hope what you have will keep you there .

But thats just one season Steve and without spending big are they really going to challenge for anything more than midtable? As i said of course its much better playing some of the best teams like you mentioned and like Ian said the buzz of getting results against teams in the prem will be much better than against teams next season where (if we keep most of our players) we will be expected to win. Personally id rather have the excitement of the promotion race than constantly finishing lower/midtable season after season, although staying up on the last day was a massive buzz. Think one of the main things for me that i dont like about the prem is all the fans that turned up when we got there (will be the same as every team) and then get on the players/managers/owners back when things arent going right thinking we should be doing much better than were actually capable of, and thats what probably led to the sacking of MM without anyone lined up even though alot will argue it should have been done sooner. Just isnt the same atmosphere for me.
fair enough pal .. it is a tough one as I said , and it is better keeping books stright than ending up like Pompey - not sure they'll even exist next season , which will be a massive shame ...

well you should have been at Hillsborough yesterday...22000 (not bad for div 3) going ballistic in injury time after soring a winner to put us a point behind Sheff Utd, fighting out for the second automatic promotion place, with 2 games to go.....beating a shite stoke side dont come close in my honest blue and white tinted glasses opinion

I think fighting to get champions league football next season is a bit different

I'm not trying to belittle the achievement of reaching the Champions League but ..... do you really think that getting into a competition where a team may get knocked out in a qualifier or early in group stages is better than going up a division where you play every week?

If we're comparing the levels of football of course it fucking is.
I felt more as a fan when we get promoted from the old Div 3 than I did when we qualified for Champs league even though Champs league is a bigger deal overall.
