I see another of Banky's works of art has appeared on the wall of Poundland in London. If we take away the secrecy that surrounds him do we have a fella who makes a half decent stencil artist or unwelcome graffiti. So my question to you is, is it art or wanton vandalism.
I think its art, i have a pal of mine who at the age of 13 was a graffiti artist and did some brillant work in birmingham. Anyhow he was my best pal at the time and when were 16 we kind of lost touch--------managed to get in touch again a couple of years ago only to find out he travels the world showing his graffiti art.........the lad is well talented and to think i used to help him all them years ago and i walked Some of his work http://www.flickr.com/photos/kemefinc/
Live life to the full and enjoy, try and help people who havn't got as much as you, you never know what tomorrow will bring!!!!
Banksy uses to say "Bad artists imitate, the great artists steal..." He must be a genius as he completely stole everything from Blek le Rat's work in Paris streets in the 70's/80s. Some great stuff from Banksy with interesting ideas and efficient stencils'aesthetics btw. His film is worth a look for those who don't really know the man.

Good point, of course. As he even admits himself: "every time I think I've painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek Le Rat has done it as well, only twenty years earlier." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blek_le_Rat). And yes, first time I've heard of Blek le Rat. Learn something new every day ... :)
the new one in bristol, where the sniper men were tagged over which he has done of the queen is prettty good, considering how busy that road is it's a good effort
its street art in a nutshell its only vandalisim if the work is shit. A strange twist of irony is that some of Banksy works around the country are being protected with thick plastic by the local authorities to stop grafitti artist removing or detroying it. but if you look at other street artist work you will realise that Banksy aint that great. Artist like El Chivo, Sweet tooth and Buff monster piss all over him
Some of his stuff is thought provoking and appeals to many who can relate and connect. If I had seen it in the street I wouldn't look twice, it's not my cup of tea but in all honesty nothing that is considered art nowadays is either.
I could smear the next morning after effects of a vindaloo all over a wall and piss into a bottle of stella and that would in certain groups would be considered art.
All being said, good luck to the fella, his thought provoking displays will never wake the masses as long as the beer is flowing and the box is still showing the soaps!
Confusion in her eyes that says it all. She's lost control.....
