we stayed in the bastille area which has good nightlife, decent food etc etc.
its a short tube ride away from the main attractions but a good place to stay.
We are staying there in September.
let me know what you think. I realy liked the area and found a couple of great sushi restaurants and cocktail bars so ideal for a weekend away with the wife.
some good french restaurants in the area as well but even the cheaper french restaurants are good quality and value comopared to eating out over here.
thanks for your help booked in to the edouard hotel looks great

You can't go wrong with this: good choice!! You will be close to Paris biggest department stores, including Paris largest sports shop (Citadium), Uniqlo a few yards away...
You will be also close to a small area where you can find real jap restaurants (I mean real because they are owned by nippons and not chinese in desguise) where food is excellent.
