First half from England's point of few was terrible, one good chance for us and that was about it. Cole was being spanked by Ukraine's right back throughout. Ukraine looked hungry and for near enough the full game went at it hammer and tongs, England for me looked like they were happy to sit back and take the draw for what reason I do not know. Good cross but wasn't a great goal. Tonight England looked poor on the attack but at least we now know that England can defend when they feel like it.
We'll have to turn it up a notch against the Italians but all in all good game and the hosts bowed out honourably.

Ukraine were really frustrating to watch, plenty of good movement but no final product, I lost count of all the horrible 30 yard shots on goal. Terrible attempted tackle before Gerrard whipped that ball in, the second yer man was beaten he went down holding his leg, pathetic. Credit to England where it's due though

Thought we were pretty average tbh and if i'm honest the Ukraine's were the better side. But sometimes in tournaments like these you need Lady Luck on your side and last night she did us proud. Thought Gerrard was immense last night typical never say die, up and at 'em performance from the Captain. The only weak link I can see in the side atm is Young, maybe Hodgson see's something in his game which justifies him in the stating 11 but for the life of me I can't.
Think we look decent on the break. Rooney should have scored that header in the first half. Cole had a decent shot towards the end. Going to be horrible watching us defend for 90 minutes against the Italians, has the potential to be very very dull.
Like the Swedes, I thought Ukraine were a dirty side. Loads of cycnical fouls on the half way line to stop us from breaking. The tackle from Schevchenkavich on Young towards the end was easily a red card, and he should be embarrassed watching it back. Once again the officials were pathetic!
Thought overall we were pretty lucky tbf and will have to improve massively for the the Italian game but if lady luck is shining on us you never know. The defence looks either very solid or very shakey for me, a nice level of consistency nearer the solid side would be ideal. Gerrard was superb last night, Parker gave the ball away a fair bit but tbf to him he gets some great blocks in and seems to crop up just where needed when we are under the cosh. Agree with Tone, I'm not seeing alot in Young at the minute but he's the kind of player can produce a spark or maybe a profitable dive We are not playing great but have been getting the results and in all honesty I havent seen any team that has made me sit back and think wow, they are the team to beat. Whether Spain will step up now we will see but for me its anyones!!

No but I think they can pick up on it from the media's perception opposed to Offhand's
comes with the territory of being English ... we go into a tournament full of hope - then get let down , usually , so slag off all ... yet win a few & next thing you know we will win it ..
