Had it now for 40+ years tried everything, now just take nasal spray & eyedrops , the cheap stuff from chemist direct + find this as effective as anything , don't take the pills as all of them make me drowsy too.
Citrizine Steve. http://cetirizine10mg.net/ I take them all year round. On prescription from the Doc. Apparently they do make you a bit heavier sleeping etc... but after a short period you get used to it. Wouldn't call it drowsy tbh though - have never been drowsy with them. Work like a charm mate. Even in the worst of this weather atm, the most I'm getting is a very minimal sniffle the odd time or eye watering for a couple of mins first thing in the morning. Virtually nothing really, brilliant considering summer used to be hell for me.
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."
Try get a jar of your local honey , apparentley that helps , a spoonfull a day, has to be local as its made from the bees collecting the pollen from around where you live or as near to .
I've used a nasal spray called Rhinocort ( often referred to as Budesonide ) on prescription for years, rarely have to use it these days but used to do the trick when I was playing golf alot, couple of sprays in mroning and fine all day although they did used to say use morning and night. Heard the local Honey thing a few times as well.
Been a chronic sufferer for years, now my little un of 6 is getting it real bad. Sounds like it's the grass pollen affecting you - I always time the peak of mine being round Wimbledon. The best drugs are either loratadine based or cetrizine dichloride (both under various brand names, Clarityn etc) that are sold in tesco, asda under their own brands in exactly the same strengths as the big name ones but for peanuts. These are classed as 2nd generation and supposedly drowsiness free but I could still happily nod off in the afternoon. In the old days our works nurse used to administer Piriton... fook me, I'd be asleep on the job running dangerous machinery - things have moved on since then though :-) It's still shit, end of - I've nearly scratched my eyes out on occasion and been rubbing my nose more than Daniella Westbrook in Pablo's house...
