a load i started off uni with have had theirs, all done decent - 2:1's
ive just finished 1st year..again, all looking well, although time to start the proper graft, anything less than a 2:1 and i'll not cope with the guilt.
reached for the secret too soon, cried for the moon.
Had mine this morning, got a first in the first year, the first semester dragged it down big time though averaged a 2:2 from the first semester but this year i got 85, 81, 75 and 80 so that dragged it right back up. Onwards and upwards. What is the actual difference between first and second year ? A massive gap ?
Not much difference on my course, at least. You develop as you go along, so you can only improve is my view on it. Third year wasn't as difficult as they try to make out. I got 76% on my last assignment which bumped me into a 2:1, happy with that. Well done mate, keep working hard.
Still in the process of knocking out the first chapter of my thesis. Been a bit of a struggle at times this past year not helped by some personal issues but that's the way it goes. Hopefully I'll have it signed off by August and then I can get going on the remaining 80,000 odd words!

I do accounting and finance, Chuffed with my results because this semester was mostly maths, which i hadn't done in 2 years, it worried the fucking life out of me, Sort of scared me, Weird, I didn't do A level maths which 90% of the course did, so they all sat there in their posh public school voices saying 'this is easy ha ha ha' . Got 77% in the maths and status module so im fucking chuffed like.
What you doing ? You only just finished, as i thought my results were late

Well done mate !! You applying around for graduate schemes ? Hope something comes your way !! Get your foot in the door !!
history, thinking about it i finished in may, thats 2 months ago, been kept pretty busy it would seem. been getting steady 2.1's in most coursework, with high 2.2's in exams, although for both preparation hasnt been good enough, first year n all that jazz.

I've applied for some go wales business type jobs, no replies yet. Surprisingly the only job that I've applied for that got back to me was in the local newspaper and I had an interview today. They want me to work 1 out of 2 Saturdays though, so might ask them if I can skip that, (yeah right) Will have to keep applying, signing on soon as well.

The way i look at it is your paying now, regardless of it mattering or not that first year has cost me about 8k....The quickest year of my life too.
i find it difficult to rationalise things purely on cost/price(having said that i wouldnt have been paying the new fees). means fuck all, not a motivating factor for me. coming together at a nice little rate though, and working on study over the summer too.

Cant justify how someone would pay £9,000 to go to some of the 'Universities' that are charging it. I'd rather either not go or try harder and go somewhere that can justify its pricetag, i bossed by A levels and they came as a suprise, i got AAB and applied for uni's at the bottom of the pile, wanting 3 on average BCC, totally undersold myself, I personally think they should change the admissions process so that you apply after getting results, there will be people are top top uni's with worse grades than me, i went to keele which is pretty decent in all fairness but i could of gone to London School Of Economics. All about what ifs etc, but as the fee's go up people will think more and more about money mate !

Ostensibly its an analysis of the impact of American policy on British petroleum interests in Iran from 1942-1952 but more broadly its a study into the development of the private sector as a tool for implementing foreign policy and the growth of soft-imperialism/diplomacy in the post-war era.

sounds good, i am interested in history with that sort of 'angle/approach' if that makes any sense, although i suppose that is subjective in itself depending on opinion on the world. looking forward to 2nd year now with selected modules. a million miles from such writing at the moment!
best of luck with the rest of that , be good to read at some point if i may.

Once I've got something a bit more readable you're more than welcome. At the moment I've got 18,000 words of historiography/methodology which is less than interesting!
