After a lovely Holiday surrounded by the Welsh hills
I open the door only to find the whole of my downstairs has flooded and the HP pipe connected to the tap in the kitchen is pissing out water.
Fuck me man why could it not have happened when i was not on holiday for week.
Insurance company said i was covered which is a relief but the whole of the downstairs flooring looks like its about to give birth.

thats shite mate, unreal the damage water can cause...good to know your insured though

Damage surveyor came round yesterday quoting the damage, I think he was the best of a bad bunch and still he was a twat.
The days of claiming for a new kitchen because you got a leaky tap are long gone

Aye nunk these insurance companies are quick enough to take your money but when you claim they try there best to pay out as little as they can.

To be fair they aren't all bad.

My mam's lower floor totally flooded the other month, just the contents totalled over 20k and this was just the garage, study, utility etc. The insurance company paid their hotel bill for 2 weeks in a smart hotel and they've been in an apartment on the quayside for over a month and could be there until Christmas. She is having the whole bottom floor refurbished and re-planned plus other work done on the house all at the expense of the insurance company. It will be a new house, still a right pain in the arse though.

Was your mans flood caused by the weather as that is totally different .an insurance company will get suspicious when a flood occurs when your on holiday,

Yes mate it was the weather. If this rain keeps up it will be flooded again!
