The opening ceremony last night was brilliant, saying that i've never been bothered about seeing any of the previous ones, the music part was brilliant, Proper music was featured no manufactured shite. Good performance by the Arctics too !!

Real football starts in a couple of weeks so i'm not sure why you'd be watching the shite version being served up at the Olympics but each to their own.
Getting back to yesterday. Six Gold medals won in one day and three won within an hour inside the athletics stadium. Just to put that in perspective, we won the grand total of one Gold medal in the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. In 1980, 1984, 1988 and 1992 we managed five Gold medals.
Won't see the like of what happened yesterday again in our lifetimes.

Force of habit I think. Even while watching it I was wondering why! Having said that athletics, despite the incredible feats of athleticism on show, generally leaves me very cold.
