A town near NYC has banned smoking on the streets !!!! What are your thoughts , over the top ? Personally i used to smoke , but tbh when someone lights up walking down the street and i get a facefull its rotten, but i think this is taking it a bit far .

Its a joke, the things that are going on in the world and they come up with no smoking!!! i smoke but its about choices, if you smoke, smoke if not don't. I agree restaurants etc best thing that happened no smoking even as a smoker i hated eating and people smoking......... But banning smoking city centres is just going to add to all the problems of buisness's shuting there doors as more people will just stay in!

good idea imo, i m the same as you Bren, hate walking through town following some pregnant mum smoking and the smoke going in my kids faces. i think they should have no smoking areas outside pubs as well..
i was against the smoking ban originally, because i m all for personal freedom of choice, but i must admit its good to be able to take my kids in most pubs for a drink when i take them out for the day. I posted a thread recently about a local pub where they allow smoking inside when its just the regulars in there, and i popped in for a couple and came out with my eyes watering and my clothes stinking, and that was after only being in there for an hour and a half
