Not Carlisle, but I was part of a small and increasingly nervous group of Plymouth fans at Brunton Park in 1999 who were also very grateful to Jimmy Glass for scoring 'that' goal.
Haha! Fantastic. I was only 6 yrs old sitting in the east stand with a neighbour when that goal went in and I'll still remember it for the rest of my life and also, into the next
fair play or supporting a team with a small support and no glamour. Im the same in some respect ,in that I support Aberdee, whose glory days are long gone. The days of Alex Ferguson leading us to winning european finls against hamburg/real madrid[beating bayern in historic quarter final] are distant memories. Butr like you these are memories I will never foget
The way modern football is kids all support the usual glamour tams. there are only a few cities in the country that support there home sid only.ALA Pompey/Newcastle[ though theyar a big team] and most of the Scottish clubs[although most cities see a big exoduos to Glasgow every Saurday]
You wonder what football would be lke if peopl supportd there local team come god and bad days
