Liverpool looked dodgy today , but it will take time to adjust to a new style of play .. they look too light up-front , no plan B , and no big hitman .. which begs the question who / why did they let Carroll go .. Reina and Gerrard were poor .. long tough season I think ..
Quote: Radford wrote in post #3Perhaps they could march around Liverpool or boycott something, I believe there is already a book of condolence in both cathedrals....
Yes LFC were poor against Arsenal who deserved to win early days yet Arsenal started shit last season & still finished in the top 4.LFC battered the champions the week before who were lucky to get a draw.Give BR time he will get it right.Very pleased with Joe Allen who has been immense in every game he has played in.People slagging off Gerrard & Reina,Gerrard rarely has a bad game is he not allowed one? Reina has had a dip in form been very poor this season was last season but i`m backing him to come good again. As people have quite rightly pointed out LFC need a goalscorer, silly to let Carroll go but alas he is now injured playing for West Ham As for Chelsea firmly thrashed in the Super Cup final last weekend media were quiet about that & as for Man U RVP has gone from carrying Arsenal week in,week out to doing the same for Fergies side. Glad to see Liverpool are still worthy of discussion!
think media were quiet over the Chelsea game as Deadline Day , and the fact it is a glorified friendly it holds no weight .. I agree on two counts , BR is a good manager , has very promising future , and young Allen is a corker .. But from a neutrals view , Gerrard and Reina have played poorly .. maybe at the twylight of Gerrards career he realises he's never gonna win Premier League title , and it's been a while since Liverpool were in CL too .. Top 4 for me this season will be City , United , Chelsea and either Arsenal or Spurs maybe Newcastle .. so yet another season of no CL football .. so I think BR needs to get team playing well , and soon .. bizarre to let Carroll go considering how light up front you are .. maybe Mickey Owen would be a good shout .. :)
Joe Allen and jack Rodwell seem to be the same player. Sideways passes all day long. As for Rodgers, I'll be amazed if he's still there at chrimbo. Some of the stuff he says is just bizarre
He's very clever though is Brendan, he saw what happened to Hodgson and so has been buttering up the Libpool fans from day one. YNWA this, YNWA that, he's got them eating out of his hand already.
hes playing an interesting game though, effectively blaming the owners for the carroll out, no one in thing, given what happened to the last two managers.
here's the dilemma..... Dalglish bought Downing, Henderson and Carroll - kings ransoms for all..... Rogers arrives and immediately wants rid of.....Downing, Henderson and Carroll.....
So either the current Manager reckons the previous one couldn't pick a player to save his life or the current manager can't pick a player to save his life
which one is it then Pool fans? Unless you're now gonna say that both managers play such different styles that both are right
PS - should have added. Don't listen to all those mocking yous about constantly changing managers. nothing wrong with it.....provided you win trophies
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."
I can't believe the owners actually spent 35million on Carroll as he only played half a season in premiership and 20million for Henderson is ridiculous, but dalglish ruined Newcastle also selling Ferdinand,Ginola and signing his son and andres Anderson,

..........
no shit sherlock. we realised that the year we won the champons league.
money talks,as we know in football, hence nomark teams like City and Chelsea being euro chapions and title holders. when did these 2 last win such big titles. 50odd years ago,in chelsea's case never.
Liverpool dont have the cash/stadia to compete with top 4. they just cant get the new stadi off the ground if they did it would be the building blocks to them getting closer. the truth is City will dominate the title race until their sheik gets bored or eufa cap the spending powers of clubs[which i thought they did,not is vitys.chelsea case irt appears].
surely you cant be allowed to ge some billianaire in who is looking for a hobby and start winning titles outr of the blue, its not really how it should woprk. yes i am jelous,if it were Liverpool i doubt i would say NO THANKS id rather build our way up. Obvious;ly if you support a team with a rich benifactor youll not give a jot
surely if fotball is not going to become boring and obvious who wins the title/cl every year FIFA/EUFA need to cap clubs spending power. clubs who are millions oin debt buy players wirth 50million cant be right ala chelsea etrc...home grown talent should be a requirment[again thought that was the case but i dont hear much about it,is it about to happen or what?]
They may as weel get UTD[maybe, but they are well on the wane IMO], City.Chelsea into a board room and toss a coin to see who gets title this year.
i can see why football crowsa are full of the corporate/middle classes.i dont think its just season tickewt porices. i think reakl fans cant see the point. they are supporting a team with no association to the club or city and would change fo the price in a minute, Tevez van persie etc.... the days of the gerrads,Nevilles,Giggs Adams wullie Miller[played for Aberdeen for 22years for people who dont know scottish football] are long gone
football is going to kill itselof and theyll cry for the old school lads[p the holigans as we were called] to come back to fillthe seats
mind you wed probably get 3 years jail for some of the songs we used to sing!!
Have a look at this Gavb and you'll see that you lot have out-spent United from 1992 to the present day. Like the lad above said, you've just had shite managers who have wasted millions upon millions on dross. The drunken wanker you had in charge last season is all the proof you need.
As a (relative) neutral when it comes to the Premier league, and who wins it. I LOVE the fact that other teams have come along ie Chels and Man City, and broken the Man U monopoly. The Premier league was becoming very boring, and apart from Arsenal (not recently), you could nt look any further than these two for the title, until Chelsea received the cash injection from Abramovich. Liverpool spent a lot of money last year, but didnt challenge for the title. Nothing to do with how much they spent, but to do with who they spent it on. Expecting "King Kenny" to come out of retirement and bring the title "home", was delusional to say the least, and sacking him and replacing him with BR, was hardly inspirational. Unfortunately, "Nomark" teams will continue to win the league for years to come, unless UEFA change the rules to make it fair for everyone....
