Probably as much a media/tinternet thing as reality anyway and dont really buy into it , but he does come across as a bugging studenty-type in the Viz mould, nothing to do with him being Scottish.

it's a really daft thing , 'cause a lot of my workmates are Scottish , and of course there is rivalry and banter - but we are also good friends , haters will always hate ..
the anti england things a load of shite, there was a really good interview with him on talksport (with that tube thats on at 1700 ish with goughie), anyway he explained it, was a throw away comment he made to a journalist in retaliation to the journo making a comment to him, murray said he was a dick for rising to it and hes learned, mentioned the fact he wouldnt be banging some english wench if he hated them.
hes grown on me over the years, hair cut helped and he seems to be coming out of his shell and being more open the last year or so to, also unlucky as hes probably up against at least two of the best tennis players ever to play the game
