Prior to the Olympics I would have said Wiggins had it nailed on but theres been a fair few outstanding performances at London 2012 so who do we think ?
For me its still Wiggins, Mo Farah second, Sir Chris Hoy/Jess Ennis third.

wiggins Tour De France win should be enough t clinch it imo....then Hoy for me......team of the year...Chelsea?
Wiggins for me but I reckon Mo Farah will be the housewives choice so it could be close and Farah would be a worthy winner too. Certainly plenty of candidates this year.
His win on the Tour followed by Olympic gold should have him nailed on. It's Sports Personality of the Year, not Sports Personality of the Olympics.
Of course the BBC does not hold rights to the Tour so once they start advertising this it will be Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis to the fore, could swing the voting.

I think you need to throw andy murray into the mix great sportsman but his personality is a little lacking he's a miseable f**ker

I think he s a good bet. Its far easier to ride a bike than play tennis well, and for that reason I think he should win...
Given the choice of standing against a net and tapping a soft bouncy ball back at some spoilt brat or cycle at speed some 2000 miles in 21 days i know which sport i'd pick as my nominated chosen profession.
I think Andy Murray and Mo Farah will split the housewives vote, leaving Wiggins to cruise home on the strength of middle-aged men in lycra who cycle at the weekends.
