Off to watch United at Leyton Orient in a couple of weeks and wondered if anyone could recommend some good pubs, either out that way, or around Liverpool St/Moorgate/Shoreditch tube stops? A proper pub with good ale on that won't mind a gang of rowdy northerners in are the main requirements.
We tend to go for a drink around Holborn/Covent Garden when in London, but it can be pricey and also it's good to try somewhere new.
The Artillery Arms by Old Street is pretty decent, its a Fullers pub so tends to have the usual Pride/ESB/Discovery plus a few rotating guests. If you want something focused on craft/mirco brewed ales then the Euston Tap (by Euston funnily enough), Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington and Pembury Tavern in Hackney are all worth a shout although the latter aren't accessible by tube.
I'd suggest heading over to the liverpool St area, We always stopped off there before going to east london for matches. There are plenty of pubs as you come out of the station across the road !!

The Lord Aberconway seems decent. Might have to try there.
Also cheers everyone else for the suggestions. I'll look into those too.

Yeah it depends what entrance you come out of, if you come out of what i would think would be the main entrance, onto bishopsgate, there used to be pubs around the entrance to middlesex street, one on each corner i think, but there will be plenty of pubs like the one you've suggested above in the off streets due to the proximety to the banking district !!
