as some know i moved house 3 months back, started the second phase yesterday as av got a builder here monday, what a fucking mess, av already had a wall took out and a chimney breast, and now av removed all the panneling from the hall, all the plaster above it, coving- that brought down the ceiling.... and removed the internal second door-frame and archway. builders comming to install a toilet-bathroom under the stairs and another door into the garage, from the toilet, sort out the electrics and fit 4 rads replace my down pipes and point to whole house..... then its the plasters turn i wish i never started

am leaving upstairs as it is for a few years, its ok up there apart from decor taste.... and i need to stick a better loft hatch in and floor the loft, 3 weekends will sort that. flooring new work tops, washer-dryer moved into the garage and then its just decorating downstairs, if i can get to that stage by the end of the year i will be happy
Got a horrible feeling we need a new roof. Want to convert the loft though so hoping it'll hold steady for a few years while we get the cash together. Didn't find the house renovating too bad, it's sorting the tradesmen out at the start and finish that's the ball ache
worth doing on the right house with this being a semi i dont think i will bother, flooring and a velux is as far as i will go, dont scrimp on the tiles if you need a roof
the plaster mess must have been a foot high when i finished yesterday but got most of it bagged, bit finishing this morning and let her take over, i rolled up the carpet and its ok now, it means i can get the builder onto other things i wouldnt tackle, gona buy a loft hatch later today and might have a look at doing that, tomorrow

that plaster dust and brick dust from having walls removed is unreal.
aye its a pain, still got another room downstairs that we havent touched so we can live in that till the mess is sorted, should be fun tomorrow when the builder knocks through to the garage
heres my small project before, during and after just added a single story where patio area used to be and then knocked out the old kitchen window, kitchen door door and patio doors to make open plan.
after doing this rest of down stairs looked a bit tired so we skimmed all rest of down stairs put in new skirting boards and the log burner which got its first go last night
