Quote: Mersons Bookie wrote in post #24Nice gesture that. Most footballers are decent human beings, aren't they?
Used to follow Arctic Monkeys around Europe on their first couple of tours. So got quite a few tales from those happy days. Great times.
People assume just because Alex Turner (well, the band in general) has changed his songwriting style and way of dress etc they've changed personality wise, i highly doubt it, i think grown up would be the term, have you met any of them of late ?
Completely agree. Can't sing about the same teenage experiences forever, and I dress quite differently to back then too. Best thing they ever did was getting Josh Homme on board. Used to have a chat with Alex and Cookie, but not seen any of them for a few years. Think they got sick of being pestered when out in town and they're rubbish drinkers anyway.

Ecoh that !! Its like how fans complain regarding the fact they play minimal ammounts of the first album, they're gonna stand the test of time IMO so when they're 40 singing about Smirnoff Ice's and Reef's they'll look soft, although those songs are absolute fucking genius !! Agree with the josh homme comment, Suck it and see is the best of the 4 albums IMO, Quite like humbug too !!

No need for that sort of stuff when he's got his wife and kids with him.
I asked him a question on twitter not that long ago and he started abusing me and saying I have no friends for no reason. Can't remember what it was but it wasn't anyting cuntish I asked him..

TBF it wasn't an isolated incident, used to enjoy the local paper interview with him after pre-season when he said in was in "perfect shape"....yeah fucking round
As for having a belter he more often than not went missing for 89 minutes of the match

That is one of the funniest/best tweets i have ever seen, quality !!
Aberdeen! I think he had a fight with a steward whilst at Cardiff, and fell out with the players all the time there too hahaha, I know a lot of Cardiff fans and they hate him, a lot
got introduced to Brad Pitt in a club once. I was like hi ...yeah big deal. Used to go out on the piss with Sid owen back in the day other than that tend to avoid famous people, normal people are far more interesting. i dont see footballers as celebrities i thought they were just footballers.
Met a few 'celebs' and seen plenty out and about but not spoken to them properly.
Saw Paul Weller in Manchester Piccadilly once. He was stood waiting for a train back to London. I was walking past him and clocked some well dressed fella out the corner of my eye, turned to look and it was Weller. Had a chat for about a minute, then his train pulled in.
Was stood at the side of Jon McLure and his brother at Bridlington Spa watching Oasis, throughout the gig. He never took his leather coat off, must have lost a stone in sweat!
The other one that sticks out is meeting Arctic Monkeys' basist, Nick O'Malley in Bowery at the first Tramlines. I was absolutely bollocksed, so can't remember too much of what I said. Must have been a pain in the arse for him having to put up with me. I've seen Matt Helders around town a few times as well.
Got in a lift with Black lace who had a number 1 with "agga-doo" in megaruff majorca in the 80's .
