What really concerns me over this is South Yorks police never learn do they, the Miners, Hillsborough, this seems to be run by a bunch of Mickey Mouse fuds on silly salaries. Just imagine if this dafty had a blade on him, we could potentially be talking about murder here. As a teenager in the 80s who was heavilly drawn into this scene we never wanted to hit the players, opposing fans yes but players why?

they did blink an eye. Celtic had a European Cup win in the 80s over Rapid Vienna overturned because someone attacked their keeper. It was at Old Trafford and I was there that night, with my cousin who was big into Celtic at the time. Celtic had to replay their home tie after a rapid Vienna player said he was hit by a bottle at Celtic park and Celtic got beat that night. The bloke who attacked the 'keeper came from near where I was standing in the Stretford Paddock.

In this day and age you must be completely thick to go on the pitch and attack a player. And I agree with Jonah and Wadey, it's one thing being a lad and doing things the way it should be done and it's another having complete muppets knocking about doing this, every club has them though its not a new thing.
He s young and very silly. He was lucky to get 16 weeks. As for Kirkland, he didnt deserve to be pushed in the face, but if his first reaction is to fall over and curl up in a ball, then I hope he never gets attacked in the street...
