The language of it, 'making an effort', 'least we can do' is very emotive. Suggesting it should be done, when it's an individual's choice. I agree with the sentiment of it, but it's quite close to the poppy sellers thread which caused a bit of a fuss.

It is the individuals choice but i for one will be going to pay my respect to those who have fought for the country past & present.We will remember them.
I will be taking my children with me next Sunday to pay our respects. I am teaching them what it means the way I'd hope and expect them to one day teach their children and so on. We should never forget the sacrifice.
I will be there with my kids and also proud in the fact that they will be there in their cadet uniforms(army and sea) in the fact that as teenagers they also know and respect who fought for this great country....
