Old age, comes to us all i'm afraid., and, as the saying goes "Age is a very high price to pay for maturity".

and i left early ahead of the inevitable penalties defeat. to bloody brentford!
Elland Road hasnt changed that much , the pic of the old lowfields is the only side thats been rebuilt , the rest is still the same !! ( apart from the floodlights ) when they knocked down the lowfields road stand and replaced it , it took alot of the atmosphere away . I used to have season tickets in the top tier seating , loved the atmosphere in there .
Quote: nefc wrote in post #8^^ elland road when you see it as you come off the motorway (i think)? looks ace. brilliant stadium
Thats the new east stand , the rest hasnt changed , the west stand is terrible and the most expensive seats ?? If your sat in the top tier of the new stand the atmosphere is lost on you as you are alot higher than the rest of the ground . Hopefully ( when Bates has gone ) the west stand will be replaced with a similar size stand , but then again we wouldnt fill it !!

what a great pciture this is. Wouldn't like to guess how many people are in that crowd, the stand behind the goal is massive.....
Record attendance is 55,000 I think against Arsenal in the 50s. This photo was either from that game or a Wales v England game with a similar crowd. Sad to think its now a housing estate...

Guessing you could add 10/15% on to take people who bunked the fence into account. The record attendance at easter road is over 65,000 but allegedly it was closer to 80k
Just double checked. Record attendance was 62,634 for Wales v England in 1959. City v Arsenal was 57,893 in 1953. That photo was from 1952, not sure who against. Another photo of the bob from 1933.
