Wrote my Clio off last week lads. Admiral rang me today offering £,2,700. Have no experience of this so not sure if I should accept it or fight for more cash. Any advice?
Check yourself how much they are selling for and alway negotiate
The smash isn't that bad is the engine damages much ? ask them how much they would sell the car back to you at it's normally cheap and you could spend half the money getting it fixed and pocket the rest

Yep that,s what they did with my oldman many moons ago, bonnet, bumper, wing and headlight were fooked,he picked them up at a scrapyard in the same colour, and was quids in
What they write off for nowadays does not make sense to me, I would tread carefully, Never had more out of my own insurance company when claimed personally, if another then you can play it a bit in my experience.

Aye your right Ja,bloke a couple of doors away from me buys crashed damaged from the auctions, does his own repairs and it,s a nice little side line for him
Last year my car got petrol bombed and the insurance payed out within 2 weeks, got more than I hoped for also, but the downside now is I now have to drive as a named driver as the quotes I've had are ridiculous
Never take the first offer and most say don't take the second offer either, if you know someone in the trade ask them to look at glass's guide as said above, other than that pop into a newsagents and have a look for a Parkers Guide which is same thing, that will give you the trade price then I'd look around what they are up for and aim for somewhere in between.
What the story then rhys? You rear end someone or just had a bump? Wats your expected insurence cost next year after this? Not prying, not after exact costs, just intrested in wat to expect should the unexpected happen to any of us
Yeah mate. Woman in front completely stopped to let someone out of a junction. Wasn't up her arse or going too quick but didn't have enough time to react. Just bought a Polo and insurance is quoted as £800 instead of the £550 I was paying this year.
Ive just puchased an ex service car , Polo 1.2 match , for my driving school , excellent car all round , well happy with it , and my insurance is only £376 fully comp .
I thought if your car is written off , it shows when you re sell , thus keeping buyers away and the price down ?
Nice one rhys looked like its worked out well, £250 more than previous years not too bad considering. I picked up a 1.4 golf the other week and cheapest quote i got was £1400. All my no claims are tied up in another (more valuable, larger cc) car which is only £325 a year. bizare basically got treat like a new driver. Needless to say ive tucked it up in my garage until my other policys due renual.
