Going here soon, any decent bars nearby for a few drinks beforehand ? Its just up from the Hacienda (well, where it was) if my memory serves me right ?

Yep it's Whitworth Street West, same as the Hacienda (apartments). There's a bar called Gorilla on the same street which is well worth a visit, you've also got the Temple Of Convenience (tiny place, used to be a public toilet), the bar at the Cornerhouse cinema, and Odder on Oxford Road.

There are a few studenty type pubs around there which are OK if you're stuck too, but those above are the only ones I'd head to that end of town for.

Lass O' Gowie is decent around the corner forgot the name of the street it was where the old BBC building was.

Got font, revs, soundcontrol, blackdog ballroom all alright.

Fonts got a massive list of cocktails starting at £2

Gorilla is decent as mentioned, if you walk south of Gorilla there is the Whim Wham cafe which is a vintage style gin saloon food aint bad there either.
