I might be up there myself, not from manchester but i've been a few times. Club wise, you can go Factory251, 42's (42nd Steet), 5th Avenue. There many more but i'll let the mancunians sort you out.
How old are you? 42's and 5th ave were my old haunts when I was a teenager, still a laugh but if your over 25 you will be the oldest in there. The venue which is few streets away from 42's is your best bet.
I spend alot of time in The Venue it aint bad music is alright on a Saturday motown, soul, etc.. FAC251 isnt bad either 3 floors 3 different genres of music indie/motown/house
Check if Beat Boutique is on which is a decent night on monthly I think also Remake Remodel at Ruby Lounge is pretty good brings a decent crowd in. Drinks mainly stay around Northern Quarter bit expensive but few nice boozers and that. TV21,Torf,Cord,Common,Tib St Tavern, The Northern, Dry, Odd, The Castle..
Oh Man City, the only football team to come from Manchester
yes mate haha maybe as said give 42's and such a wide birth.
My advice would be just hit the Northern Quarter , Soup Kitchen, Commen , Krakk galery, Porter st beer house. If you want a club, South is your best bet.
Quote: AlexOtterwell wrote in post #13Dry bar is shit, never any atmosphere in there played a few gigs there during my band days! Get to south mate, always a good night on a Saturday.
duly noted.
thank you Alex.
Dirty old river, must you keep rolling, Flowing into the night.......
Park Inn is a handy spot to stay in- just get over the ring road and you're pretty much in the Northern Quarter. Head down Thomas Street and more or less every bar along / just off there is worth a visit.
South always used to be fun, not been in ages, if Clint Boon's on the decks then you know what you'll get. It's a cab ride away from the norther quarter- Mint is a good alternative if you're happy where you are and don't fancy jumping in a cab- there will be some poor unfortunate handing out flyers for it on the street when you get to the junction with High Street.
Great sunday dinner in The English Lounge when you're hung over the next day!
6 months in Thornton, Fife. The other 6 months in Aracaju, Brazil
Just booked up for weekend at end of March. Never been myself but really looking forward to it Staying in the Light Appartments. Couple we are heading down with have been a few times so know the good places to go. Might try and go to a game too and send the wife's off to the shops.
Going the weekend of the 8th, football museum in the day and then off out of the night, my mate lives there and he's a tight bastard so only goes to the shithole student clubs, I'm a student myself but these places get on my nerves after a few nights out at them without a break for a decent place. We went to his suggestion on new years and we spend an hour arguing with cunts of bouncers, and didnt end up inside until half 12.....So we're in charge this time around.....
Where shall we go ? Want to go to somewhere that isn't a dump, plays good music and dont mind paying for quality !!
Varied musical taste amongst the 4 of us....Just don't want to go out and hear tinie tempah !!

That Norman Jay thing is a Good Times set. Heard good things about the club too, it's in the northern quarter- so take your pick down Thomas Street and High Street for bars beforehand.
Expect to pay 4 quid a drink, and if you are a big group of lads probably best to split up to get in to good places after about 9pm.
