Just to let anyone with any insurance, especially car insurance know. Be careful what details you put in on these comparison websites.

I did a quote back in October last year for car insurance. I thought i was going to get 3 points because i believed i'd been snapped by one of those mobile speed cameras. So i tried one with 3 points on the quote to see how much difference it was.

Cut a long story short, i went through my policy details yesterday and they had me down of having 3 points. I phoned them up and they said their sister company had picked up i'd done a quote with 3 points so they'd put them on my policy meaning i'd pay an extra £170 over the year.

I've had to scan and email them my license and counterpart to prove i've got no points, when they've put them on my policy without any proof. Funny, i just had to laugh whilst on the phone when the woman started preaching to me how their company thrive on getting their policy holders details 100% correct.

So just watch what you put in those comparison websites and take time to read through you're policy details.
