Me and my mate are off to Kharkiv (Ukraine) on Wednesday ahead of our Europa tie... However we don't have match tickets due to not having Season Tickets and living 160 miles away from Newcastle. The lad we usually get away tickets off hasn't been able to get 2. If anyone can help us get 2 by tomorrow and have them sent out SD then i will forever be grateful and there will be more than a few pints in it!
We did the same for Brugge, but were able to jib in for free in the home end through an unmarked gate. This won't be so easy sadly as it has Euro 2012 security barriers and it on bare land, whereas Brugge was among houses and tighter.
We are doing this trip for £150 all in, fly to Poland, then fly from Poland to Kiev, sleep in Kiev then train up to Kharkiv, stay over in Kharkiv then train back to Kiev before a lovely 14 hour overnight bus to Poland again then fly home.

After seeing what happened to a bunch of Indian lads in the documentary before Euro 2012 I'd advise about getting tickets for the home end. Certain factions of their support are fucking animals.
Yeah, keep yourself safe out there. A few Liverpool fans got a pasting in Russia last week, knuckle-dusters the lot. And they don't care if you want it or not!

Loads of fans got their flags nicked. There was a photo of some liverpool flag in the home end, presumably afterwards.

After all that travel I'd at least want to see some of the match before a trip to the cells or the local A&E though

One lad lost a few teeth and plenty other casualties. They said some of the Ruskies had them cagfighter gloves on
Aye, we are thinking of just bodding in the home end like but would be nice to be with the lads in the away section. Will see what happens when we are out there, where there is a will and all that... We always do trips in no colours, just take our flags for when we meet up with people... Plus i have a massive beard and my mate looks Russianish so by ways of stereotype, we should be ok...
When we went to Brugge we paid £75 all in. However it meant sleeping rough in London the night before and then in Brugge... Something i don't recommend! Luckily the train station in London is open 24/7. Here's a few pictures... Hopefully you can't see, but i decided to don a 'tash for the trip...
Looking out at the away end/s from where we were...
Just got home now.... Bloody grim out there lads! We got in anyway, and we won! Aye, most hostile place i have ever been... Not a word of English spoken and their own Alphabet so very hard trip. Couple of lads we met the first night got attacked, one missed the game after being kicked in the jaw and having to go to hospital... Bloody child he was as well, rotten bastards. Few Metalist tried kicking off in a pub before hand but nothing much was made of it... The rest is rumour i am lead to believe. After the game we we're all penned in outside the ground and those on official travel went on their buses and buggered off to airport, the rest of us who came independently were taken in escort on buses to the city centre and we all got smashed on ale, no stories of actual violence from those their at that time. Tbh, the people were very nice all round, before kick off and even half time people were swapping merch over the fences and having pictures taken. Couple of bottles thrown after we scored and few threats but that's football ey. Will pop on tomorrow with full account!
Ahh shite, forgot about this haha Got travel booked for Portugal now! So any tickets once again welcome.
As for Ukraine... Grim place but great experience.
Anyway, here is a picture heavy look at the journey.
26p a pint in Kiev...
Our hostel was awful and abandoned so we logically decided a 24 hour pub was the best idea, with a 5.50am train to Kharkiv to aim for... Don't remember this being taken. Or this...
But we made it onto our train... Well, we must have as i woke up covered in my own sick and was thrown into the toilets by a soldier where i threw up more. Next thing i remember is it being day light and arriving in Kharkiv... Still with sick all down me kegs and on me trainers but not on the floor :S
Flare in Newcastle end. Post match pints.
Then back to Kiev the next day... We then had to catch our lovely 14 hour overnight bus from Kiev to Rzeszow in Poland, however as they use a different alphabet and no one speaks English... We were lost for a good while and night was fast approaching. McDonalds and free WiFi saved us tbh! And we finally realised we were miles away... Thank god for Taxi's. However, on our journeys through Kiev we stumbled across this Chernobyl memorial which also had a gold church in honour just behind it.
Despite having to wait on the Polish border for 3 hours in -9 degrees due to some clown messing his passport up, we arrived in Rzeszow... Have to say Poland is the cheapest place i have ever been in my life.
Then back home on the only departing flight of the day in a year old little airport just outside the town.
The end... I'm sure you can all get on with your lives happily knowing all this.
4 of them? We bumped into 4 lads, high as a kite at the airport in Poland for our connection to Kiev on the way there. Met them at the game as well, good lads... Smashed out of their brains like haha Not a clue where they said they were from now like.
Aye this one should be good. Going on the day of the game, early flight from Manchester to Faro (where we went for pre-season) then train to Lisboa. Back down to Faro day after game then flight home. £184 all in, ok considering i suppose.
