Gents, This will help not only you but also myself. I am taking on a unit soon and have a fair amount of stock in my possession and do a lot of sourcing for people who have got to know me around Sheffield and beyond. I am always getting asked or moving stuff on to people/lads who dont use the board. This is increasing hence the idea of me taking on a shop unit and creating a store come workspace to start working on Offhand as a brand. It will also be a hub for the local Dandies to chill with a coffee and other goodies. As you know will be selling all sorts, basically new brands but with a section of high end second hand stock which I source. Now here is the deal which helps me and helps you hopefully.
* - Anybody in the marketplace who has their items up for sale can if they want send them to me to display in the shop. * - This helps me especially in the early stages pull together a good range of clobber and help the place get established. * - You send it to me for what you were going to post onto member either when you put up or if you think is not going to sell. * - I hold it and display in the shop and if it sells take 10% of the final selling price which you stated. Same as Ebay basically. Your item is open to a wider audience and there are lots of people waiting for me to open this kind of place. * - If you have sent me items and it sells on the forum then I post onto the buyer and he pays you, I dont get anything from it at all. * - I will be responsible for the item or items while in my possession and also be helping to shift your stuff which is on the board through people who come in to buy things. So over time I will be able to offer my customers lots of different stock. * - Any local will be able to offer their unwanted to me in bulk or also offer to trade items for other stock in the shop. Example : You have a mille and a Paul/Shark knit which you not too bothered about no more... I have a brand new Engineered Garments with tags Northwood for sale. You can send me if we agree on a deal and we trade items. * - I will be attempting to offer people the chance to buy brands over a period also instead of laying out one lump sum to help with more expensive purchases.
I hope this does not come across as though it is an attempt to make any money from any of you. I just want to offer a new concept in retail which i think is needed and to help establish me as a store and brand over time. It certainly will benefit this place in the long run because what I will end up is getting brands onboard a lot easier with a physical shop that what goes on sale instore will also be offered to you with a forum discount as the shop will be supplementing the rrp of labels. Obviously if you visit the place and give the handshake you will get good discounts. [smile] I am getting a lot of stock offered to me these days and have been allowing folk to my home to purchase but think having a unit is far better and its what brands want to see. Then Offhand will become what I feel is what we should be. * A community driven label where you guys dictate to what is designed and manufactured as its what you want to wear. There are enough on here who know so much about the finer details and fit of clothing that its a waste if we don't utilise it and where else is there a brand so bespoke where we can all have a say in how the finished product looks, Bit of a long winded thread so apologies if bored you so will Sticky this and hope you can see my aim and what we want for here ultimately.
