Only watched the last half hour myself and was surprised to see Rooney not on the pitch as I turned on. No doubt the sending off changed the game, was it....wasn't it who knows, by the letter of the law I guess yes but its all down to consistency and all this shite about well in Europe its this and in PL its that, surely its the same frikin game ffs! Mind you after seeing Charlton Cole get sent off against Everton a few weeks back for having his foot up and all 5ft of Leighton Baines try and header the ball nothing surprises me anymore. Heard a lot of the " irony of a contentious decision at OT " but tbh I'd rather an English team progress than a Spanish one whoever they are.
