Mountain Picnic Blues will be good too but this will get rave reviews because of who its about......Shane Meadows is good at making music related things funny.....Le Donk is brilliant.

Neither could anyone in Punk, Post Punk, the majority of Rock and many more ground breaking genres and sounds. Have you ever heard Ian Curtis? Even on recordings in the studio he can't sing, but music is about much more than that. Stick to fake X-Factor and mainstream put together girl bands if you want pitch perfect, pre-wrote tripe.
Ha ha OK mate was just saying seen em plenty of times other people will agree who have seen him sing live, spike island was'nt the best but it was great day out was you there??
Narr not Spike Island, was in MCR last June though. Thought he sounded ok, was expecting worse. Was also an amazing gig.
Majority of people agree that sound wise, all round... It was shit... But it was the experience as a whole that made it special. Would have loved to have gone.

Charlatans a better band agree along with others, Farm, Primal Scream, Mondays, its all whats you were into at the time. Never a massive Roses fan more James for me. Didn't even feel the urge to go to the the gig last year. thought would be hassle more than anything. I must be getting old. Hoping to go to Mondays gig in summer at Scarborough though fingers crossed.

I saw the Mondays last summer, shaun sounded much better than when i'd seen him 2 years previous. I think the style of the mondays means that they can sound shit but you'll still have a blast....Music you want to dance to. The roses were Ok when i saw them, I dont think i'll pay to see them again really. I'd rather go to 3 seperate gigs for the same sort of money.

I caught them for the first time in the summer, I thought V fest's line up was weak but i managed to see loads of bands that had evaded me up to that point, The charlatans always fell on bad dates when local, the mondays had got back together and i missed out on stone roses tickets, all in all a good weekend. Oh and I'd happily pay to watch the Charlatans over the Roses ANY DAY.
Been a stone roses fan from day one and got the Vinyl collection in me wardrobe some where Sugar spun sister has to be the greatest song ever written by someone from up north :)
Not matter what mood youre in you can always listen to the Stones roses first album
I went to the Made of Stone film last night and it is top drawer well worth a watch i will go again when its on general release, roll on glasgow in june
^^^^ I agree, it was brilliant and looking forward to Finsbury Park on Friday too :-) Some of the early footage and interviews were brilliant and very funny too. I preferred the Mondays back then saw them about 10 times including Ibiza, Paris etc but not seen any of the re-union stuff as just don't want to cringe and feel sorry for them. The Stone Roses however are brilliant musically and yep I was at Spike Island and it was dreadful but amazing all in one day, they have that something else which puts them on another level and that comes from their attitude and belief in themselves and I thought Heaton Park last year was quality and Ian Brown was much better than I thought he would be to be fair and Fools Gold live is up there with my greatest gig moments ever :-) Although I'll always have a sod spot for the intro to Wrote for luck which the Mondays closed all their gigs with back in the day. The Charlatans and Primal Scream are great bands but they are just bands, the Stone Roses are above that somehow?!!
I've got some left over money from this week and i should really be considering going to see the roses next weekend....But i can't be arsed to be honest.
Whats the deal with the film? Is it going straight to DVD or what ?? My mate turned down a free ticket for the premiere because it was a single ticket, the lad who'd got it isn't a fan but works at the WHP so got it that way....I know someone that went to see it Local and enjoyed it, Will give it a watch if it comes on general release.
