Out on the piss last night with my mate who is off to do a tour in Afghanistan. I was not worried untill someone told me that there are a lot of injuries and deaths that are not in the news i am sure he will be fine but you just worry dont ya. anyone got any mates out there at the moment ? is it really that bad out there?
Read an Article in the Gaurdian Newspaper over 6 Months ago which stated openly the main reason for being there was for the protection of the Poppy Fields.. A lot of money is made from this industry.

yeah i have always known it was a drug war because the Taliban were using it to fund terriosm and my mate knows this too but its not the sort of thing the troops care about really, he just wants to do a good job and make sure him and his squad get home in one piece Codien, Heroine and morphine are all opium derivatives and worth mega bucks to the drug companies its just a shame that its not for a more worthy cause like protecting the local people of afghanistan
