An element on here will argue for the 70's musically due to punk & the bands prehaps having something more to say with their lyrics (due to the economy etc) struggle to disagree on the fashion front anything that replaced flares and snorkels jackets must take credit.

I know a few lads who had Flat Tops in the 80's. Spear of Destiny and other Indie band influences. Saw some cracking gigs in that decade.. Hairdresser called Polish Joe used to be the man for the Flat Top with his use of the Spirit Level.
I had a back perm in about 83. The 80's were great for music, fashion, attitude, drugs,violence, well great for everything. However I do wish I'd have lived through the 60's.

Flares were very much a part of the 80s. Not mainstream like but that was the idea back then, to be anti-fashion. As for perms I didn't need one, they didn't call be Shiley Temple as a kid for nothing! My favourite haircut from the 80s was my pristine curly shoulder-length bob
permed at the back. side shade at the front don't think the 80s was ever bettered although I suppose if you lived through each decade at the same/age/stage in life, you'd be better equipped to judge. 80's though will always have a soft spot for me.
