The time argument is flawed. If you take the last 21.5km (from base to summit) then he was only 10 seconds quicker than Wiggins in 2009. Nothing to see here...

Doesn't tell the whole story though. Wiggins stage was 167km. Froome rode 220km at an average of 47kph just to get to the foot of the mountain. Anyone can pull different figures out to suit an argument just like I have. Regardless of times, have you ever seen anyone accelerate like that uphill still seated? The guy had no cycling pedigree until 2 years ago. They were going to cut him from the team. The foreign journalists in the press room at the tour were laughing and booing.
