How much foreign aid actually gets to the people whom really need it? always thought we would be better off spending it via charities working on projects in countries rather than handing it over to corrupt tin pot dictators. Read somewhere the other day we hand over millions in aid to the Argies and the fuckers still want the falklands.
Agree it's a small percentage of the budget but it's the principle at play here, if tories invest the savings in infrastructure projects to create jobs fine.

Not at all. Are you defending government policy which demonises those in receipt of benefits as "scroungers", instigates division amongst societies poorest and sucks time and energy away from the most pressing problems facing society i.e. the burgeoning gap between the richest and poorest. It's all too easy to look tough by going after a handful of scumbags who abuse the system, yet I don't see the same righteous indignation for those who abuse the system from the top down. I'd also love to see some statistics to back up your bellicosity.

As for "them foreign cunts" wind your neck in mate. My wife's one of "them foreign cunts" and she can't claim a penny from the state for another two years, despite living here for several already. It's utter fantasy to think that people who come here always have it easy, in my experience they don't and the figures don't suggest they do either. You know who does have it easy here though? The wealthy from Eastern Europe and the Emirates who can buy up our football clubs, property and culture....yet that's heralded as "progress."

Talk of "shirkers" really is pretty depressing. RVP, what percentage of the +3m unemployed do you think fit into this category and do you think there are jobs available for them? Similarly, if you're an advocate of full structural employment (as I am) would you agree with the government funding job creation schemes rather than the private sector.

Jack although your ideals are admirable, they are in no way achievable.
There are always going to be lazy fookers who don't want to work and to be honest the state has made it so comfortable and easy for them you can't blame them.

The government doesn't have the money as we are being stretched already by too much people employed in the public sector.

You need entrepreneurs and a strong private sector to create more jobs which will in turn generate more taxes.

Aye, it's always interesting when terminal cancer patients get sent threatening letters telling them to face a back to work fitness test by this government. Had the family of one woman show me a letter the other day, threatening the woman with court unless she faced the test... A woman who was days from death. Then there are people with MND and MS and lots more.

Don't know what is more stupid, that or the fact people on the internet still think millions and millions of people are stealing benefits. All you have to do is look at the facts, the data and the census. It's not hard.

Be interesting to know what proportion of that pension slice of the pie goes to former public sector workers.
