There's a lot of vintage shops filled with sneakers and old sportswear if you're into that. The 14 oz store is also worth a visit. Eating burgers at White Trash or The Bird is highly reccomended. Visit unlike.net and find lots of reviews of places to go! It's a really nice city, you'll probably want to go back soon enough.
Brilliant city, was there last autumn but only had a day to look around. All the historic sites are a must and make sure you get a currywurst - lovely stuff. One word of warning if you are moving around on the u-bahn/s-bahn, get a ticket at the stations, no conductors on the trains and they will fine you if caught. Like I was.
Don't bother getting a hotel, just spend saturday to sunday in Berghain. Easy.
Recommendations of the top of my head: John Muir cocktail bar, the bird for burgers/ribs, due di coppe in kreuzberg is a very decent italian if you're with your missus (gets busy though), chez michel (also in kreuzberg) is a really nice hole in the wall french bistro - great, changeable menu, 14oz, firmament, hardwax/record loft if you're into vinyl, the JFK Museum. Get a travel pass for the U-Bahn, there are more inspectors than ever so you can't just hop the train. Oh, might be worth renting bikes too, really flat city and very cycle friendly. Try a Berliner weiss with syrup, and get your fill of currywurst and pilsner.
That aside, just wander around Kreuzberg/Neukollen/Friederichshain and see what you see. The whole city is pretty amazing.

George went with Uni for a Geography trip. Told me some unreal stories.
