Never understood the idea that sportsmen should look happy while they're playing, if they win who gives a toss? Suppose he could be a bit more like Tim Henman, nice bloke, but one career win (Paris Masters?) and a few 'plucky' semi-final defeats

I think a lot of people think he is miserable because of how he comes over in interviews mroe than how he appears when he is playing. Thats how I see it anyway.
when he is plagying he will be 100% focused and rightly so as you say thats his only concearn at that point.
but IMO he could come across a bit better in interviews. Sean could be right he might just be shy and people read into that as he is miserable ?
Agree with D and S tbh, I think he's quite a shy guy in front of the camera's and maybe gets tired of having a microphone shoved in his face all the time, particularly pre Wimbledon. Yeh he's maybe dropped the odd bollock but it must be hard to always say " the right thing ". He is definitely coming across better in interviews these days imo. I think the appointment of Lendl was a massive turning point for him, for me he has improved massively and I think the publics perception of him is improving all the time. Always felt a little sorry for him and his timing in the game, I mean the odds of coming up against the likes of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic at the same time, but he's certainly up there with the best of them now. Good luck to him and hopefully there's more to come and I hope he gets to No 1 as that would be a massive achievement!

having 4 great players was realy exciting for the game.
I think now federer is no longer at the same level as the other 3 and that nadal will be in and out a lot with injury which leaves 2.....
