not a Chelsea fan and thought they were good enough for anyone.. tonights selection of a left back and shite centre half in midfield.. didn,t they have any better choices available??
Agree with frank, think Mourinho got it wrong over the two-legs. 0-0 away first leg is not a good result, needed a goal. Too negative in the second leg as well. Oh well, we've won it once.
Well beaten by a very good team. The plan MIGHT have worked If we'd held to ht but the equaliser killed us. Poor defensively tonigt with cahill and cole particularly bad and much irony that our potential match winner went to sleep on the 2 sloppy goals. The times when we needed the rub of the green it just didn't get it. Agree in some ways that José may take the flak for the strategy but tbh it could have got very messy away if we'd opened up against that side. I think he's knew that. And if we'd defended like normal we'd have been 45 mins from the final. One criticism I would have is not using set pieces enough away as we looked dangerous from them. But taken nothing away. They're an excellent team and their supporters were sound in Monaco so hope they win it now. and how good was courtios!

You don't need to open up, but at least try to score. The counter-attack was non-existent over there. The goals were sloppy, but they were always likely to score if they needed to.
Yeah it was non existent. Think the whole fear poetically after psg was us being outta the tie by the second leg. Liked I say I think we could have tried to use set plays more over there and tonight. Win free kicks in the final 3rd and load the box as they looked like they may concede. But it's actually a lot more easier to accept losing when it doesn't involve controversy :-)

Thats what you get for trying to play 21st Century football.
This is gonna hurt you Chelsea lads but, as Carragher so rightly said Chelsea have 2 goals in 6 Champions League semi-final legs under Mourinho, you need to move on and stop living in the past. Mourinho has been found out, again, you have some decent creative players at the Bridge, 'The Special One' is inept at using them and most are farmed out across the globe as he doesn't know how to best use their talents!

I'm sorry but thats just utter shit.
Lukaku is the only player JM has loaned out, the rest were already out on loan. He's only been here a season you know.
The only criticism i have of him is he didn't get a half decent centre foward in January. Surely with the worldwide scouting system we have we could have found some one half decent.
As for last night, we were beaten by a better team, end of. It happens. You should know that Tone, follwoing Albion.
We can't be Champions of Europe every year, can we.......
In all honesty mate, I don't think Mourinho knows how to play a decent centre forward. He's too cautious nowadays, he's scared of losing, he hates losing, if his team loses, he doesn't make the front page, it's all about him, not Chelsea.
I'll admit West Brom have got beaten by quite a few good teams this season, unfortunately, Chelsea ain't one of 'em.
Carraghers point was very valid. stats don't lie. too cautious, particularly in the 2 Liverpool encounters where we were a much better side than them those seasons. Last night however, we weren't gonna beat that side playing any sort of expansive football. They're a better team than us, with at least as much desire, steel, speed, etc.....so it's particularly tricky to win that tie. That's not to say you can't win a match but the likelihood was much less in those circumstances. I'd like to see how we'd have fared in the second half coming out at 1-0 but hey ho, all ifs buts and maybes.
And by the way, defend like we did last night on those goals and you won't win any sort of semi final. For some reason our strength became a weakness at times (possibly JT not fit, Hazard not fully fit and went to sleep on the goals, Cahill and Cole had poor games and Shwarzer looked unconvincing at times and showed the difference a top class keeper can make if contrasted with Courtios's performance.
As has been said before, we don't play this way every week. Didn't hear many complaining about performance when we blew Arsenal away or run City ragged at the Etihad in Feb. Realistically, all our aspirations for this season was CL football and maybe a decent cup run. We've had that in spades particularly given we haven't challenged for the league in seasons. Next season we'll improve a lot
as for Jose, it's testament to his past achievements that people like you are saying he's "Found out" through not winning a cup in his first season back. Unlike any other Manager it seems he's not afforded a 'transition' season. God knows what that means for all the others. He inherited a team that was eliminated at the CL group stage and struggled to get into the top 4 last season and turned them into title contenders with 2 games to go and CL semi-finalists. We're also third biggest scorers in the PL. Surprising that for a team who plays 19th century football that only City and the scousers have scored more.....
Anyways, been a good season for us and I'm happy with our progress....

Mourinho said from the start that we wouldn't win the league and there are better teams in the CL. He knows there are big weaknesses in the squad. That will be addressed in the next transfer window and then we can judge his second tenure.
I don't think his style has been 'found out'. Simeone has adopted a very similar style to Mourinho and he is in the final.
The fact we are 2 points off top after 36 games - in spite of our lack of goalscorers - is testament to Mourinho.

Yeah, yeah, yeah all well and good, but you ain't won anything have you?
Anyways, been a good season for us and I'm happy with our progress....
Here's one for you, if Chelsea don't win the league this season, then they have under achieved under Mourinho.
Before you start beating your chests, at least Rafa bought you silverware!
Ouch!
the Europa league was nothing more than a chance for a few decent aways. And a chance for us to complete 'the set'. Jose summed it up perfectly. Europa league is not where we want to be as a club.
I'll give you the benefit that you're looking for a bite. But it is strange how many non-chelsea seem preoccupied and unhappy with 'our' style of football, 'our' achievements, 'our' manager.....particularly when we're all pretty content, thanks.
and here's the thing. Plenty of big jobs knocking around this season so how come Rafa hasn't been shortlisted/approached for any? Even the Yids have swerved him and they went and got AVB ffs. Food for thought, eh....

Thank you!
Why would he want to come back to the UK and get slaughtered by the press, who for some reason hate him, on a daily basis?
Maybe if he'd stopped at Chelsea, you might have won something this season. But no you had to go back to the 'good old days' but sorry lads time moves on. It's like going back to the old girlfriend, it's never quite the same the second time around!
