Due to my work we had test several, and I must say in some way the iPad of Apple still turns out the best for me. Easy interface, solid build. I woud stay away from the windows tablets. Windows shop sucks. Beter then go for an Android, as Nunk said, the Samsungs will do good also.
i hate the samsung tab3., its basically a big version of their phones! i giot it at half price as they were upgradiing thankfully
ipad is the obvious one but its pricey. I think the Kindle fire is quite good for the money, my wife has it and i prefer the feel and features of it to the samsung
If your just playing around on the internet / email i'd recommend a Chromebook just bought one for a couple of hundred quid, 7 second boot up, cloud storage dead easy to use and i prefer a keyboard. If its a tablet though the kids love their Ipad's.
Be careful what you dream of it may come up and surprise you.
