Mrs is pestering me to get off my arse and down the gym but thinking of starting boxing again or learning a martial art. Used to do a bit of boxing in my teens but mainly pissed about and tossed it off cos my old man (the then head coach for the england army boxing team) put loads of pressure on me to get into it, would love to get back into it now though for the fitness aspect. Any boxers on here or anyone into martial arts who could recomend a good one to learn?
I used to be into boxing in my younger days i was 21 my last bout and then gave up, loved the training, circuit training nothing beats it mate, i would pop down to your local boxing club and ask if you can just train. I should get back into it im just a lazy sod these days
Live life to the full and enjoy, try and help people who havn't got as much as you, you never know what tomorrow will bring!!!!
yea think boxings gonna be my best bet J, remember the fitness aspect of it being really intense so should get me in shape in no time. Just wish I still lived in sheffield with more choices of clubs as weve just the one round here and its about 5 miles from where i live, maybe ill jog there rocky style

As Lunken say's kickboxing is great for fitness and work's all of your body, I did thai boxing for 18 month's and that's a good crack, keep's you more aware than boxing, for fitness to kick start though you may aswell just join a proper gym and hit the bag's as the weight will drop off you, something I need to go back to as I enjoy doing weight's but it just make's me bulk out and wheeze when I'm chasing the kids in the park, any of the above or go running/jogging
Do it the benefits from any lifestyle change is good, love pounding the gym, and working a bag. but my job keeps me more in shape usually. my advice is try anything you never know
