im a real ale drinker, 1st thing i look for when i go in a pub is the ales pumps, much better than fizzy piss lager, plus i dont get AS bad hangovers on the real ale
Always up for trying new beers and like the idea of drinking something that was brewed locally. Find the whole 'fizzy piss water' thing a bit cringey though. I love drinking a nice pint of stella and can;t see that changing.
i know you can get a decent pint of lager sometimes, but by fizzy piss im thinkin of the shite that my local serves up, fosters, carling etc. i still like a nice cold bottle of becks or the like.

Get you now. But there is others that think all lagers are shit and that's fair enough i suppose but some people take ti a bit too far if you know what i mean. What's a decent priced ale to get me started on then?
any mate, i go to my local booths supermarket and get about 12 bottle of whatever is on offer for £1 a bottle, or if im pubs i tend to go for ones ive not had before, always seem to be nice and the range of taste/flavour is much wider than lager. to be honest wetherspoons are decent for real ales, they seem to have ones local to the area.

That's somewhere I have always seen real ales but i just go for the tried and tested stella normally.
They had an IPA for 99p a pint once. Was fucking horrible haha.
once youve made the switch you wont look back!, got my brother converted in the past year, all he ever drunk was fosters so i kept on at him and hes a real ale drinker now

I'm in agreement with 1louder. Fosters and carling is piss. Some great belgium and german lagers out there. Get yourself in waeatherspoons and try a couple of the ales on offer. I would recommend ABBOT ALE. all the best.
Camra release a qaurterly magazine and sheffield was in it this time. Kelham Island Tavern was voted camra pub of the year this year. I'll be up there next year to sample a few of the boozers in the list. Fat Cat, Harlequin etc..

On the subject of real ale, anyone tried Duvel. Fuck me that stuff is wicked.
Remember the first time i tried it i were working in Belgium and went out with one of the locals. It comes in a half pint and my guest kept telling me it's very strong, slow down. "can't be THAT strong" i said it "only comes in halfs"
The following day he came round my hotel to see where i were, should have been on site at 9, it's now mid-day. He didn't have to kick the door in as i were still in a coma flat out on the bed, fully dressed with the door still wide open.
Told him i weren't feeling too good, must of been something i ate.
Real ale , tend to stick to lager on big nights out though as it mixes better with the alcopops (que abuse...) in nightclubs. Thornbridge brewery's 'Wild Swan" is a personal favourite at the moment.
By real ale you meen casque ales? It's not a big thing in denmark, only 2-3 pubs serve in the whole country. One being Charlies Bar, just voted 35. best bar by some beer guide or something like that. I have a mate working there and he's trying his best to get me converted :D
Quite fond of anything fruity :D Don't like the bitters to much. London pride and Steinbock (I think) are favourites.
Been getting into real ales myself over the last year, just had enough of the blandness of most lagers on offer in the pubs. I like the variety you can get and how every one is different. Tend to just go into the pubs and give everything a go, if you don't like one you can always move onto another.
