Dup are just NI Tories with a more religious slant. Party has a heavy bible membership which swings the power on policy. They've sided with tories since lassie was a pup unless it was about perceived concessions towards an all Ireland. They're nothing like what's being portrayed. The mud being slung should be aimed at the whole Christian religion which is where they derive the controversial bits of policy. It's currently out of bed with the law on the likes of gay rights.
