Dubrovnik is well worth the visit. Lovely walled town. It took a right shoeing during the balkan wars but has been restored beautifully. If you get chance get to Hvar, its a lovely island. This place is very chilled during the day but is a bit of a party island at night. Me and the good lady went island hopping round here a few years ago so things may have changed. Still worth it for the scenery though. Zagreb is nice enough for a wander but never went to Rovinj.
Went to dubrovnik in march/april. If scenery is your thing I can't fault it. Like a picture postcard every street you turn onto. Worth taking a wander around the walls but just walking in the city is a decent experience in itself. Food and drink are pricey though and when we were there it was starting to get busy with the cruise ships coming in and can only imagine what it would be like now. Oh and try the ice cream. It's fucking magic. Especialy the one farthest down the main street in the old town if you entering from the harbour side. If you get the chance its also worth visiting mostar for the day. Another town that took a right shoeing during the balkan wars and its famous bridge got destroyed but has since been rebuilt.
Oh and if you coukld bring me back a bottle of this wine please. It was fucking ace:
I'm not really sure of all this pressure, I'm never gonna lose any of my old letters, 'Cause they'll stay with me, Until I can see that I'm no one

Did you go to Mostar via Dubrovnik? Up into Bosnia by road? We went this way and some of the scenery was tragic. Village upon village of burnt out houses. Not sure if much had changed? We went a few years ago.

Aye we were based in dubrovnik so went via road. There wasn't too many relics of the war as a massive building programme seems to be ongoing at the moment with only bigger things like tower blocks and hotels still being abandoned and obviosly due to the war. There was a fuckload of rubble in a lot of places and can only assume these used to be the villages that you saw. Only a few other smaller buildings survive that have been damaged. Mostar was interesting as it had both though. The old town was completely rebuilt but as you walk into it from the "christian" side of the river the street you walk down has a good few buildings that have been wrecked during the war.

Didn't see this thread earlier, Rovinj is quite nice. I also like Split and islands which you can visit from Split by ferry ... Hvar was mentioned and it's rally more like a party destination but if you prefer more chill out island I would recommend Vis. Really quiet place and it's likable destination by sailing boat tourists in the summer. Korcula island is beautiful I heard but haven't been there yet. And Dubrovnik of course. I recommend visiting few tourist sites and get more information there before you plan a trip so you can somehow know what to expect.
