At the moment I personally think it's Tom Meighan from Kasabian , saw them at TITP and the guy had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

In the past , I think you have Ian Curtis , Mick Jagger and John Lydon. Don't know who to go for..

Phil Etheridge and Saunders from The Twang

Alex Turner, the man that turned a poem from his English GCSE sylabus into what i think is one of the best Arctic Monkeys songs. Also I loved how he confused a great ammount of (thick) people RE his speech at the Brits.

Freddie Mercury,not born here but fronted an english band so it counts to me.

Don't know whether I'm biased as I love the Clash,but Joe Strummer for me
