ZitatThe interview with Example is excruciating. ‘Back in the day’ now refers to 2003 apparently. Example – a molly-coddled middle-class arse trumpet masquerading as a ‘grime producer’ – then reveals (learning to loathe that phrase) that his mum and dad had flown over from Australia to see his performance. “Grrrrrrreat!” Yates, Cotton and Example are just one sock puppet short of a kids TV show.
I got back yesterday from my first ever Glastonbury and I have to say it was one of the best weekends I've ever had. Yes quite a few posh types pretending to be 'avin it. But in general everyone there was sound and a great atmosphere everywhere. The mud was hard going and the site is huge so walking around in 6 inches deep of mud kills your legs. Music wise absolutely fantastic my highlights were on the Thursday Baggy Mondays which was a couple of dj's playing 90's indie tunes,Friday obviously U2 and Morrissey. Saturday Elbow were fucking brilliant and I was on a different planet by the time Coldplay came on and after that spent all night in Shangri-La which is a trippy arty type of maze full of clubs and weirdness. Sunday was chilling out in the sun watching Laura Marlin then perking up with Go Team, Kaiser Chiefs were good but I made the mistake of finishing the weekend watching Beyonce , I should have stuck with my original plan of seeing Kool and the Gang. Roll on 2013.
Each to their own. Maybe they didn't look great on the tele but after being on the lash all day with your mates and being in a huge crowd all buzzing with the atmosphere that adds as much to a gig as the music. From what I saw there you could spend the whole weekend there and not see a single band.
So you went all the way to Glasto and didn't see one decent band.....
He did see Saint Morrissey! As said to each their own. I spent most of my time at glastonbury walking around the dance village then shangri-la. Great festival but not sure I'll be going back.
Haha Didn't mean that to come across as harsh as it probably did, obviously just my opinion (which is always right btw).
Glasto and SGP are the only ones I can think of where you could go and not bother with the music too much. Can't be said for Reading and Fucking V. Glasto is at it's best around 1am just wandering around bumping into a Mad-haters tea party, a group of nudists, the Miniscule of Sound, Pete Doherty off his nut, a bongo circle with a half-naked woman dancing in the middle, etc.
C'mon Jack, Morrissey? Looked like he couldn't wait to get off the stage. Probably due to the lack of middle-aged men trying to jump on and give him a hug.

Was he on the telly? Missed almost all the coverage this weekend.
SGP - secret garden party. Think if I were to go to a festival for more than a day again it'd be something like Kazantip in the Ukraine, proper hostels as opposed to camping.
